Activities of the SNF |
The immediate goal of the Foundation is to identify and work in programming areas where Dr. Nujoma can provide leadership and initiative. This will ensure that the Founder's ideals remain of benefit to present and future generations of Namibia. |
The Foundation seeks to enhance the activities of the National Endowment Fund, which was launched by Dr. Sam Nujoma on 23 September 1994. The National Endowment Fund was established to foster the promotion of Mathematics, Science and Technology in Namibia. |
The Foundation provides financial assistance to Namibian students studying Science and Technology. |
It also addresses the plight of vulnerable children in Namibia by providing care for the abandoned, orphaned and HIV/Aids infected children. |
In addition, the Sam Nujoma Foundation considers a range of other social responsibilities that relate to the work of the Founding President during his term of office. These include the facilitation and organization of seminars, conferences, lectures, workshops and particularly those that promote mathematics, science, technology, and medical research. |
In pursuit of its goals, the Foundation intends to house libraries and archives where scholars and students can conduct research into the history of the Namibian people's struggle for national liberation and independence. |
Through the work of the Foundation the Namibian people and the international world will continue to benefit from the political acumen and guidance of Dr. Nujoma in the public management of Namibia. |
